KATHMANDU: In yet another incident of serious caste-based discrimination a house owner has been arrested at the country’s Capital city on Sunday for refusing to provide her rooms to a Dalit woman for rent.
House owner of Babar mahal Saraswati Pradhan was arrested after a media person and singer Rupa Sunar filed a complaint to the Police claiming that Pradhan refused to provide rooms for rent after knowing her caste.
According to Police officers Pradhan will be investigated, keeping her in detention for three days.
However, the house owner Pradhan has refused the claim that she had refused to allow her rooms after knowing her caste.
