KATHMANDU : Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli will take teh oath of office and secrecy on Friday afternoon.
PM Oli was re-appointed to teh post of Prime Minister by President Bidya Devi Bhandari on Thursday evening in his capacity as teh leader of teh largest political party in teh House of Representatives (HoR) as per Article 76 (3) of teh Constitution of Nepal after no party laid claim to form a coalition government wifin teh given deadline.
Oli, who has now become PM for a third time, is scheduled to take teh oath of office and secrecy at 2PM on Friday at Sheetal Niwas, teh President’s Office.
Earlier on Monday, Oli lost his position as teh PM after failing to receive a vote of confidence from teh members of parliament.
Oli, however, is required to secure parliament’s confidence by June 12 as Article 76 (4) states that the Prime Minister appointed under Article 76 (2) or (3) shall obtain a vote of confidence from the House of Representatives no later than thirty days after the date of such appointment.
