KATHMANDU: Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) has organized a demonstration in the capital on Thrusday demanding the government to take legal action against those involved in murdering Bhim Bahadur Bishwokarma, who had died of thrashing at Chitwan on Thursday.
Dalit Mukti Sangathan and Nepal Shilpi Special Province National Committee of the JSP organized the demonstrations to protest the ‘killing’ at Maitighar of Kathmandu in the presence of Former Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai, who is also the chairperson of the party’s Federal Council.
According to the organizers they arranged the protest to press the government to impart justice to the deceased at the earliest.
The demonstrators had chanted slogans including ‘Take action against the culprits’, ‘Give justice to Bhim Bahadur’s family’ besides holding placards.
They have also demanded the government maximum punishment as per the existing laws, justice to the victim’s family members, and the end of all forms of discrimination from the country.
Bishwokarma, 58, of Bharatpur Metropolitan City-4, of Chitwan, was killed in a clash on the issue of worshipping at the Durga temple on October 14, a day before the greatest festival of Hindus.
His family members have also been demanding maximum punishment to the culprits claiming that he was killed because of his caste.
