Nepali Parkour Dinesh Sunar sets 19th world record

KATHMANDU: Nepali Parkour athlete Dinesh Sunar has set world records for the 19th time with the most backward blindfolded somersault on May 4. 

Born to a poor family in Nepal’s remote Khotang district, Sunar performed 13 flips in just 30 seconds at the annual cultural function hosted by DC events at the premises of Univesirty of District of Columbia, Washington DC. 

Sunar was felicitated at the function by Nepali ambassador to Nepal Sridhar Khatri. 

However, the Guiness Book of World Records is yet to recognise the world record set by Sunar for the 19th time. Sunar has already set world records in several Parkour games.

Parkour is known as the sport of traversing environmental obstacles by running, climbing, or leaping rapidly and efficiently.

According to Guiness Book of World Records, Sunar achieved the most blindfolded standing backwards somersaults in one minute is 22, in Akron, Ohio, USA, on 5 January 2023.
