ADWAN and NIWF to Host Parallel Event at CSW 69

The National Indigenous Women's Forum (NIWF) and the Nepal Dalit Women's Upliftment Association (ADWAN) are co-hosting a parallel event to CSW 69 in New York on March 19, 2025. Focused on "Beijing +30: Perspectives of Indigenous and Dalit Women," the event will critically assess the 30-year journey since the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action. It aims to highlight indigenous and Dalit women's experiences, challenges, contributions, and leadership.

Key topics of discussion include gender equality, climate justice, disaster risk reduction, political participation, and economic empowerment. The event seeks to amplify the voices of indigenous and Dalit women in global gender justice dialogues.

Distinguished speakers include Dr. Bishnumaya Pariyar from the Nepal Dalit Mahila Utthan Sangh, Dr. Diana Fox, Director of Interim University under the University of West Indies, Ms. Patricia Cortes from UN Women LAC, Honorable Kiran Kumar Shah, Chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee on Women and Society, and Ms. Yesso Kanti Bhattachan, Vice President of the National Indigenous Women's Forum. The program will be moderated by Ms. Barsha Lekhi.
