According to Bohara, Nepal will participate in seven events. They include fencing, table tennis, Wushu, shooting, taekwondo, badminton and athletics. Apart from Bohara, Pradeep Joshi, the president of USAN and Shiva Koirala, the vice president of National Sports Council, will be the members of Nepali delegation.
The Summer Universiade is scheduled to start on July 28 in Chengdu, which will be the third Chinese city to host the Summer Universiade, after Beijing in 2001 and Shenzhen in 2011.
“We hope to win some of the events and bring medals home,” said Bohara. The Summer Universiade, an international multi-sports event, organized for university athletes by the International University Sports Federation (FISU), is expected to draw over 10,000 student-athletes and officials from over 150 countries competing over 12 days.
